Weaving centre at Thillaiyadi, Tamil Nadu
Based on the undergraduate thesis of Ar. Nivetha, this building was a part of the developments proposed in the village of Thillaiyadi.

The village had a rich history of traditional weaving and handloom industry, which died due the industrialization and market of ready made clothes.

The weaving centre is designed to revive the traditional handloom, by providing training to the youth of the village. The design houses all the required spaces, modern day machinery for processing the loom, with old machines revived back to their working. The spaces and verandahs are designed around multiple courtyards, in order to attain ample light and wind circulation throughout.
